No Work Dancing

I was kinda hoping that these guys sucked, as their name is perfect for a creative slam. No dice. The skilled quartet filters things like Talking Heads and The Walkmen through a tattered Calexico cheesecloth, turning the 11 tracks here into dusty and original gems. Hard to classify and solid throughout, “No Work Dancing” deftly blurs the line between trainhopping sing-a-longs and quirky accordion rock without ever coming off as pretentious or straining. Nicely varied yet cohesive, it’s difficult to imagine this album benefiting from anything other than people taking the time to check it out.

Some upcoming news for you .

-we have some really nice shows coming up

first off we play Bar Leucadian on Wednesday Feb. 22nd with the Blank Tapes for our friend Michael Schmitt. It is a free show,

then on March 13th we are very happy to be playing the Belly Up in Solana Beach with friends the Paragraphs and Heavy Glow, this is our first time playing here and would love to have everyone come to make it a good one!

there are a couple more in the works and more details to come as well

-the band is also working on a lot of new recordings with our friend Ben, we have around 20 or so songs to figure out what to do with…
